Paper Monkey Scheduler

Terms of Use

Last updated September 5, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Paper Monkey Scheduler and every purchase. By using the service or selecting the payment button after seeing these Terms, you agree to them.

At a glance

You can see every spreadsheet problem we find for free. You pay once, only after a new or corrected schedule passes every displayed check. “Verified” covers only the rules you confirmed. Keep your original file and download the paid files before clearing browser data.

1. Eligibility and authority

You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you use the service for a league, school, club, business, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to act for it. The service is intended for adult organizers, not children. New purchases are currently available only to customers in the United States. The free spreadsheet check does not require a purchase.

2. What the service does

The current service handles one basketball division at a time. It supports 4–64 teams. With 4–20 teams, each pair may play once or twice. With 21–64 teams, each team may play 6–20 different opponents; an odd number of teams requires an even number of games per team. For those larger divisions, you may optionally create named groups, assign every team to one group, and choose whether games remain entirely within groups or stay within groups whenever possible. In the flexible option, games between groups are allowed, minimized, and shared as evenly as possible. Paper Monkey does not infer group membership. It also supports up to 60 allowed dates, 20 courts, 24 start times, and 40 possible game times across all courts on one date. The answers you confirm are called your “Schedule Rules.” You enter the opening and closing hours for each court. You can use shared hours, close a court on selected dates, or give a date different hours. The full game reservation must fit before closing. You may also select dates when particular teams cannot play. These days off are followed during building, checking, correction, and later game changes. Saved schedules created before this feature retain their original confirmed rule: every listed start time is available on every listed court and date. The free checker reports every problem it finds under your Schedule Rules and separately identifies allowed cross-group games. You may optionally lock existing games. A locked game must keep its teams, date, start time, and court. Locks do not override other rules; if they prevent a valid correction, you must review the locks or rules before correction can proceed. A paid correction keeps all locked games and the largest possible number of other existing games unchanged, fixes the rest, and passes every check before payment is offered. A later game move or two-game switch is applied only if the full schedule still passes.

3. What “Verified” means

“Verified” means Paper Monkey checked every game against the must-follow Schedule Rules you confirmed and found no problems at that time. It does not mean a league, governing body, school, insurer, facility, coach, referee, or other person approved the schedule.

Paper Monkey cannot check a rule you do not provide. We check court reservations using the minutes you enter, including time between games. You must choose enough time for actual play, warm-up, breaks, and cleanup. We check the court hours and closures you enter; we do not verify or reserve the facility itself. The service does not presently check travel time, referee availability, coach conflicts across divisions, player eligibility, local association rules, closures you did not enter, weather, accessibility needs, or laws. You remain responsible for those matters and for reviewing the schedule before you publish it.

4. Your inputs and responsibilities

You are responsible for correct team names, group names and assignments, dates, times, courts, spreadsheet-column choices, and Schedule Rules. You must have the right to use the material you enter. Do not provide player or parent information, payment-card data, health information, passwords, or other sensitive information. Keep your original spreadsheet and download copies promptly; schedules saved in a browser can be lost when site data is cleared.

5. Prices, checkout, and delivery

The complete list of spreadsheet problems is free. Creating and checking a new schedule costs $79 USD. Correcting and checking an existing schedule costs $49 USD. Prices are before applicable sales tax, which is calculated and shown before you pay. Each is a one-time purchase with no subscription. The payment button appears only after a finished schedule passes every check. Stripe handles payment. Delivery occurs when payment is confirmed and the schedule and download buttons open on the device used to pay.

Prices and product scope may change for future purchases. A completed purchase remains governed by the price and scope shown at checkout. We offer a seven-day satisfaction guarantee with optional feedback. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy and nonwaivable law.

6. Accounts and saved schedules

After payment, use the checkout email to sign in without a password. Choose Save to account on the original device to store your verified schedule, its rules, and any repair change log. Open that account copy to continue on another device; changes made there save automatically. A device copy and an account copy can differ. Conflicting edits are stopped so you can download your open changes before reopening the saved copy. Your receipt alone cannot rebuild an unsaved or deleted schedule. We retain saved seasons while you keep using your account. After five years without account activity, we may remove saved schedules after advance email notice and an opportunity to sign in and keep them or download copies. You can remove your own account copies at any time. You are responsible for access to your email and device and must notify us if you suspect unauthorized account use.

7. License and ownership

You retain rights you hold in your league names and schedule inputs. After payment, you and the organization you represent have ongoing permission to use, copy, edit, share, and publish the generated schedule and files for league operations. This permission is a nonexclusive, perpetual license unless the purchase receives a completed full refund, as described in the Refund Policy. Paper Monkey retains rights in the service software, checking methods, templates, branding, and general-purpose components.

8. Acceptable use

You may not bypass payment or security controls; access another person’s account or purchase; disrupt or overload the service; upload malicious material; probe for vulnerabilities without written authorization; use the service unlawfully; claim that a result checked rules outside the displayed Schedule Rules; or copy, resell, or reverse engineer the service except where nonwaivable law permits.

9. Availability and third-party services

Cloudflare, Stripe, Resend, browsers, and device software provide parts of the service. We may maintain, correct, restrict, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every device or external system. A third party’s service is also governed by its own terms.

10. Warranties and liability

Except for the stated meaning of “Verified” and rights the law does not let us exclude, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Paper Monkey is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, including lost revenue, canceled games, travel costs, or lost data.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid for the affected purchase. These limits do not apply to fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or liability the law does not let us limit.

11. Governing law and disputes

Except where nonwaivable law provides otherwise, Washington law governs these Terms without regard to conflict rules. An action must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Whitman County, Washington, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. Before filing, you are encouraged to email a description of the issue and requested resolution and allow 30 days for an informal response; this does not waive an urgent or nonwaivable right.

12. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues. A waiver must be express. You may not assign these Terms without written consent; Paper Monkey may assign them with a legitimate business transfer. We may revise these Terms prospectively, with additional notice or consent where law requires it. The Privacy Policy is a separate notice.
